The financier acquired a smaller island - Little St James - originally in 1998, but subsequently obtained the more expansive adjacent island in 2016 for approximately $22.5 million.
These photos reveal he had formulated plans to develop the substantial island by erecting residences, an amphitheatre, an underwater office and a swimming pool.
